York Label has announced the acquisition of Southern Atlantic Label, located in Chesapeake, VA, USA. Southern Atlantic Label was founded in 1972 and employs 130 people.

Southern Atlantic Label’s primary market segment is food, including poultry, deli meats, cooking oils and sauces, as well as beverages, durable goods, healthcare and personal care. According to York President John McKernan, the acquisition will support York’s plan to acquire companies that strengthen its position in the market and provide additional geographic footprint in the industry.

The transaction was 100 percent funded by Diamond Castle Holdings, a private equity company, and York Label management.

York Label, based in Omaha, NE, USA, has production facilities throughout North America and a joint venture in Chile. The company employs more than 700 people.
